LIBRARIES OF CONQUEST

This is the SEVENTH year for this team, formed in 2015 by Jack Leong (at Robarts Library) and supported by the Rusty Dragons. While the crew was unable to race in 2020 due to the pandemic, they look forward to at least getting out in single-person Outrigger Canoes in 2021, and then hopefully back in dragon boats in 2022.  Anyone can participate in this sport and have fun and do well.

The objective is for this to be a fun experience for everyone. The non-profit registration fee includes all practices and events as well as the use of life jackets and paddles. Use the red button below to register now!

2021 May 08 Update: Registration for the team is now open.  Click on the registration button below where you will be directed to TeamSnap to register.  You must still register for this team even though there is no base cost.  It is through TeamSnap that you will receive club messages, and also get some team communications once everyone is registered.

If you have any questions, please contact Christina at christina.tooulias @ utoronto.ca.

Uof T LIBRARY OF CONQUEST

This is the FOURTH year for this team, formed in 2015 by Jack Leong (at Robarts Library) and supported by the Rusty Dragons. The team had great years in 2015-2017 and they look forward to building on an established crew that has fun while working hard at practices and race day. It just goes to show that anyone can participate in this sport and have fun and do well.

The coach will take you from never having sat in a dragon boat to racing on Canada Day at Toronto's Centre Island. The objective is for this to be a fun experience for everyone. The non-profit registration fee includes all practices and race day as well as the use of life jackets and paddles. Use the red button below to register now!

New in 2018: Once-a-month high-quality video review so you can see yourself from side view while paddling. This is an invaluable too to see how you are doing and in comparison to others, and is also a great tool for the coach to help individuals and the team as a whole.

If you have any questions, please contact Jack at jack.leong @ utoronto.ca or Christina at christina.tooulias @ utoronto.ca.

Stay tuned for updates in the New Year regarding the plans for this team!

JOIN US in 2021!

The team had a great year in 2018 and 2019.  After practicing Friday evening in May and June under coach Ann the team competed at the DDRA Canada Day Regatta on Toronto Island.  The team had consistent races in the preliminary 500m and 200m qualifier races, then won shiny new Rusty Dragons SILVER medals in the "B" Mixed Division 500m final.  The team was only one second away from winning gold in the division!

Meet new people, learn new skills, breathe in some fresh air, enjoy the waterfront, and get a little exercise. Don't miss our adventure this coming season with the thrill of racing and the camaraderie of our special group.

JOIN US in 2019!

The team had a great year in 2018.  Many members started the year with MTCS Oars to Discover (May and June and racing on Canada Day), and then joined Guns n Roses for the July through September program.   As many members were the same on both teams, we decided to make it a single full season team in 2019.  The MTCS team name will be dropped (as not many paddlers were from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport (MTCS) any longer.  And besides, Guns n Roses was always meant to be the sister team to Motley Crew who practice the same night and time all season (plus Mondays too).
