This brand new team for 2023 is open to anyone from anywhere in the GTA who wants to practice on Tuesday evenings (6:15-7:30 PM on the water) in May and June and then race at the Canada Day Regatta on Saturday July 1st at Toronto Island. Our practice site at Outer Harbour is one of the best in Toronto (just to the west of Tommy Thompson Park) and is in the Toronto Beaches Area, hence the team name and an effort to also try to get more members of the Beaches area to join in. The team is focusing on being a community team, and also encouraging parents and kids (generally 12 and up) to join the team.
This is the fifth year for this team. Join us and spend your summer months enjoying the paddling, camaraderie, and fresh air on waterfront that comes with this team. New this year is monthly video review - where we take video of team paddling and can look at it later to identify areas where the team can improve. This is an invaluable tool to becoming a better team. We have two dedicated co-captains identified very early on to help plan for an amazing year!
This team practices once a week in May and June, and then races on Canada Day.
Practicing May 9/16/23/30, June 6/13/20/27. Arrive before 6:00 PM - we are on the water from 6:15-7:25 PM.

The team had a great year in 2018. Many members started the year with MTCS Oars to Discover (May and June and racing on Canada Day), and then joined Guns n Roses for the July through September program. As many members were the same on both teams, we decided to make it a single full season team in 2019. The MTCS team name will be dropped (as not many paddlers were from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport (MTCS) any longer. And besides, Guns n Roses was always meant to be the sister team to Motley Crew who practice the same night and time all season (plus Mondays too).
Meet new people, learn new skills, breathe in some fresh air, enjoy the waterfront, and get a little exercise. Don't miss our adventure this coming season with the thrill of racing and the camaraderie of our special group.
