We are excited to announce that the 2025 Liberty Waves summer program has been finalized and the details published below.  Registration is NOW OPEN below via the purple registration button.

As an 2SLGBTQIA+ community-based dragon boat team, we aim at providing a social and fitness-focused sporting outlet for the gay and lesbian community, as well as their friends, family and supporters.

Our team reflects the following core values:

- Committed members are expected adhere to regular attendance, baseline level of fitness, and the pursuit of technical excellence.
- Community-Facing -
members strive to be positive ambassadors for, and representatives of 2SLGBTQIA+ paddlers towards the greater dragon boat / paddling community and public.
- Supportive
members are expected to be good teammates and engage in teamwork to foster a positive environment at all times.
- Goal-Orientedmembers are expected to understand and adhere to the goals set (through consensus) by the team so as to further develop within the team, and improve team performance.

TeamSnap issue:  The Rusty Dragons do not ask for gender for any of our teams (in our registration forms or anywhere).  However, independent of us, the TeamSnap registration and team management app we use requires a gender M/F answer in the creation of your TeamSnap profile (which no one in the club sees).  Last year we created a problem ticket with the company and while polite they would not plan a change.  We have initiated another problem ticket and await a response.  However, digging into this showed that this is an American company and it is sadly and likely now illegal for them to make a change.  As a result, despite this being the top sports team tool in the world, the Rusty Dragons will look for an alternative tool to start using in 2026.  We sincerely apologize to members of all teams for using this tool with a serious flaw.  We will have it resolved one way or another for next year.

News (March 7):  As of today the team is over halfway full and starting to collect payments.   We want YOU to join the team and not miss out!  Register before we hit the 24 person limit.

The team is thrilled to announce Lynn
and William are the team co-captains for 2025, and that coach Jonathan Navarro is returning as the team's coach.  The team is open to anyone on a first come first served basis until we reach capacity of 24 paddlers.  No experience is necessary!

Please review the details below, and if they fit your interest, schedule, and budget,  then join us!
