We are excited to announce that the 2024 Liberty Waves summer program has been finalized and the details published below. Registration is NOW OPEN below via the purple registration button.
As an LGBTQ2+ community-based dragon boat team, we aim at providing a social and fitness-focused sporting outlet for the gay and lesbian community, as well as their friends, family and supporters.
Our team reflects the following core values:
- Committed - members are expected adhere to regular attendance, baseline level of fitness, and the pursuit of technical excellence.
- Community-Facing - members strive to be positive ambassadors for, and representatives of LGBTQ2IAS+ paddlers towards the greater dragon boat / paddling community and public.
- Supportive - members are expected to be good teammates and engage in teamwork to foster a positive environment at all times.
- Goal-Oriented - members are expected to understand and adhere to the goals set (through consensus) by the team so as to further develop within the team, and improve team performance.

News (April 3): The team is happy to announce Lynn Meiklereid as a co-captain for the 2024 team. We thank Susan and Hamza very much for their captaincy last year. The team is half way to capacity and is open to anyone on a first come first served basis until we reach capacity of 24 paddlers.
