We are a fun, positive, and recreational dragon boat team. Our focus is to be inclusive and welcome all paddlers regardless of age or experience.
Please note that we practice to race. Dragon boating is a fun and athletic sport, but it does need a basic level of fitness so that you can paddle for a few minutes at a time over the course of an hour. Registering for our team also requires a commitment to our regatta days, which take place on the following three Saturdays: July 4, August 15 and September 19.
Practices take place weekly from May to September. We care about improving our performance, no matter where we are or who we are up against. Together, we can build a sense of belonging, inclusion and achievement.
Michael Teixeira will continue to coach us in 2026. Co-captains Shalini and Kalpana are returning as well. Pramod and Maria are also on the Leadership Committee that includes coach Michael and manager Tim.
Join us and meet new people, learn new skills, breathe in some fresh air, enjoy the waterfront, and get some exercise. Don't miss our adventure this coming season with the thrill of racing and the camaraderie of our special group.
If you have questions, contact Shalini and Kalpana at Flying-Dragons @ RustyDragons.ca.
We practice once a week from May to September and participate in 3 regattas.
